today was my most parceltastic day ever! A loud knock at the door awoke me at around 8:30am. I arose from my bed, slipped into a pair of jeans, raced down the stairs, and opened the door. Alas, the delivery person had vanished! But sitting near my feet were 2 glorious parcels, both addressed to me. I picked up the parcels, walked back put the stairs, slipped out of my jeans (sexy!), and got back into bed. The return addresses told me that one parcel was from Alex in Brisbane, one from Banchory in Scotland. I opened Alexs' first. It contained, as expected, a copy of her zine, a freddo frog, and a mix tape. But also a copy of her boyfriends zine with a compilation CD! Then I opened the Banchory parcel, and took out my new Belle and Sebastian t-shirt (yay!), the limited edition Belle and Sebastian playing cards (yay!), a sticker, and the latest edition of Careless Talk Costs Lives (the greatest music magazine since Select).
But what is a boy to do? So much music and reading material, but with an exam to do on Friday. Well, I hear you say, study while listening to the music, then read the zines when you finish your exam. That's good thinking.
I am thinking of starting up a zine over the summer. It seems to be quite easy to do. I'll have to get a typewriter though, cause they are so much cooler than computers. And some old picture books to cut drawings and photo's out of. And write some articles i guess. It should be fun. I think I might do honours next year, and do all the things in Perth i have been meaning to do but never have. Like enter campus bands, write an article for the uni newspaper, start my own zine, go jogging in kings park every morning.
For now though, I must study.
