(No) Time to Update
sorry about the lack of posting lately. my thesis is due in 8 days and I have been working busily on it for the last few weeks. i promised myself i wouldn't leave it all to the last minute, but I should have known better than to take my word for it.
i was also busy with Love is My Velocity (Keong and I's club night), which was a not-quite-raging-but-pretty-damn-stiff-current success. we would of had at least 100 people over the course of the night, at one stage about 60 at once, and our friend were outnumbered by curious onlookers, so we were happy with the turnout. Our DJing skills were good too and there were only one or two dodgy mixing incidents. My highlight was playing The Shins, B&S, Camera Obscura, The Magnetic Fields and Sodastream in succession. Lots of people came and up congratulated us and said they enjoyed our eclectic mix of styles, and lots of electro-clash fans were more than complimentary towards keong. Our next night is the 30th of Nov.
I've also moved recently, just to add to the stress of my life. The new place is bigger (it is a house!) and has bigger bedrooms, a backyard, a shed with crazy stuff in (cardboard men, an oil pit thing which I have dubbed The Pit of Death, spaces for tools on the wall, a totem tennis pole (rock!)...). And we get junk mail every day! it's nice to know someone cares, even if that someone is trying to make me sell the house i rent or tempting me to go to cosmetic parties where slightly drunk middle aged ladies will make me look 20 years younger.
my thesis is calling my name now, it gets a bit grumpy when I leave it for more than half an hour. such a demanding mistress it is. "I can't be with you all the time you know!" I say to it, "I need a bit of time to rest and regain my stamina". I really can't wait to be rid of it.
